Worlds Greatest Dad is awesome. Yes this means it's a review.

Just when you thought that Robin Williams would fail to venture into any dark quality material after The Night Listener bombed, as well as Death to Smoochy, he comes back in an even better dark comedy. this comedy is called Worlds Greatest Dad and it's a dark, hilarious and twisted motion picture that goes lower than Fox News and still retains it's dignity in a good moral story.
The film stars Robin williams as Lance Clayton a high school teacher who is divorced and is an spiring novelist with four novels written, but none of them have been published. He has a girlfriend who is another teacher at the high school teacher claire(Alexie Gilmore), who refuses to announce that they are publicly dating. He also has a son named kyle(Daryl Sabara), who plays Kyle as quite possibly the worst son ever conceived and hilariously profane at the same time. He has a poetry class which is going to be cancelled if it doesn't get more than four students.
When you're thinking of why this film is so twisted just think about this next sentence. The hardest thing in life is to bury your child, but with if the death of your child lead to many wonderful things. That's how twisted this movie is. Conservatives will likely be pissed like that isn't unusual. Well Kyle is accidentally killed via masturbating and his father doesn't want kyle to have the pain of knowing how ridiculously he died so Robin williams makes his death look like a suicide and writes a fake suicide note. Soon the suicide note is hacked and posted around the entire school and soon the most hated and misunderstood kid looks like a role model to every student. Lance, who is a failed novelist soon starts to receive all this publicity over a fake suicide note that everyone begins to love. His life begins to turn around and his is achieving the fame he had always desired. However, Kyle's best friend Andrew knows that Kyle didn't write that note because he knew Kyle better than anyone.
Soon Lance begins to learn that the things you want in life aren't always the ones that make you happy and that being really lonely isn't the same as being alone. The comedy is clearly not for all tastes and who could really be surprised if you see who directed this film. Bobcat Goldthwait who has given us other strange films like Stay and Shakes the Clown.
This may be an appalling movie for some and a brilliantly dark and satirical film to others. Either way it's hilarious and it shows why Robin Williams is still one of the best actors around today and can be strong and hilarious with whatever film he's in.
I would recommend this film to anybody who can understand its uncomfortable and briliant humor.
