Tyler Perry's I Can Do Bad All By myself

This is easily Perry's best film yet and I don't take that lightly. I've never been to fond of tyler Perry, but this film really hit a good chord with me in terms of viewing him as a director of brilliance rather than a successful sketch who's overrated first film allowed him to make many other films that were average, but great in box office numbers. Well in this one he tops it with better writing, drama, and more human than any of his other films.
The film as usual features Tyler Perry as Madea in his laughable and lovable usual performance. It mainly stars Taraji P. Henson in a great performance. The film goes very well with the log line which is a wife tries to hold onto her husband, even though he' just moved in with her sister. It's basically another dysfunctional family movie except with interconnecting stories involving Madea and many others in chronological order unlike your average Tarantino film.
Some people will call this film trash, but those are the people who are usually not fond of perry's style or subject matter. I'll agree that this film is not for everybody, but neither are Woody Allen's, or Dario Argentos. Clearly Tyler Perry likes creative control over his films as you can tell by the credits, and he knows how he wants to see his films, and they are meant to please his fans and himself. It's the same formula except of a higher caliber that is rarely seen from Perry in even his most ambitious movies.
The film also includes plenty of gospel music which is luckily much better than the Fighting temptations. I wonder if this had any to do with Perry's lifestyle growing up as this is often as recurring theme in some of his movies.
Overall, this was the most enjoyable film this week and I'll give Perry credit for making a truly great film that was originally seen by me and many other critics as a typical Tyler perry film.
