This is easily the best film of the year and it officially restores the credibility of music video directors thanks to David Fincher for his hard work on this film for which he'll surely receive and Oscar nomination and quite possibly and Oscar award for. The trailer to many people may have made the movie look really corny, but I sensed that this film is more.
This film is more than just a summary about the story of the Facebook founders, it's about Facebook in general and why we are so obsessed by it. It digs in deep into the lives of those who made it and the mental stress they were in when they invented Facebook.
Jesse Eisenberg continues to prove how great and versatile of an actor he is. His performance as Mark Zuckerberg will surely earn an oscar nomination, It's his best performance since The Squid and the Whale. andrew Garfield gives a greta performance which adds a lot more to his credibility for playing the new Spiderman. Justin Timberlake oozes charisma as Sean Parker and almost steals the scene in every moment he's featured in the film.
Personally I felt that the script really elevated this film thanks to Aaron Sorkin, another deserving Oscar nominee hopeful. His script gives us great humor, wit, and epic intimacy between the audience and the characters. You are totally absorbed by the dialogue, and the gloriously directed scenes by David Fincher.
David Fincher thank you for showing that there are some music video directors who don't need explosions to make a good film. This film is absorbing, near perfect, and entertaining at the same time. I'd go as far to say that this is the film of this decade.
