Dunk Films - by Christopher Waldeck

The hurt Locker and 500 Days of Summer are thankfully nominated for golden globe awards

December 15th 2009 21:18
The awards are great guys, but I thought i turned down the audition for evil kneivel

The hurt Locker has finally received some great recognition from the Golden Globes as a best picture contender. This film deserves more attention than it's getting from mianstream audiences and I sure do hope that it gets a wider release in theaters before the oscars so that it can have a higher bid for an Oscar. It is directed by katheryn Bigelow who deserves her nomination as best director, but sadly she is going up against mQuentin tarantino who has had great movie success with inglorious Basterds which will probably receive the most awards simply because of Tarantino's reputation, but I must say that Inglorious Basterds is the most overrated film this year if it wins over The Hurt Locker. The hurt locker is also up against Avatar from james cameron who is also the ex husband of Katehryn bigelow so the two must have really good timing and competition when it comes to movies. This could be a marreid couples quarrell that will determine who gets the upper hand in this battle between former couples and filmmakers. hopefully, the hurt locker will win the top two awards for this festival.

500 Days of Summer is up for best Picture for a musical or Comedy, but hopefully it will actually win and become this year's Little miss Sunshine if it is released again as a hopeful top contender for screenplay or at least some acting awards for Jospeh Gordon-Lewitt and Zooey Deschanel. This was a brilliant romantic comedy that didn't stoop to oow levels of hollywood in order to win. The only film that would satisfy me for winning over this remarkable indie film is The Hangover, but of course, we all know that despite mixed reviews and easily the most overrated film if the winner will be Nine. Nine is getting to much hype especially when you consider it's reviews so far. I was pissed when chicago won, and I'll be even more disappointed if this film beats these two wortheir films known as The Hangover and 500 Days of Summer.
