The Hangover

The Hangover is the best comedy of the summer so far. At least until Judd Apatow comes out with Funny People. This movie has almost everything you want to see in a raunchy comedy and that is drinking, partying, crude humor and plenty of sexual content throughout.
This movie was made from the director of Old school so expect every gross sexual gag possible involving condoms, nude old men, Asian mafia, women, a tiger, Mike Tyson and very quirky characters with very dirty mouths. now this movie is far from anything near academy award winning material, but its a good fresh load of humor that's actually not from Judd Apatow. This is a simple bro mance movie with some great laughs and you'll actaully want to sit by and watch the credits roll when the movies done. If you haven't already guessed it that last line was a spoiler. The Bro mance isn't nearly as good as I Love You man, but its raunchier and all those National lampoon fans will be satisfied.
The film was well cast as I found every actor very believable in their parts. I never expected to see Justin Bartha from National Treasure fame in a film like this, but he proves that he can do more adult comedy without being a dirty character like the others. The Mike Tyson cameo will be legendary as it was one of the most awesomely weird moments in movie history. Heather Graham flashes us and shows us her acting chops and proves that she should still have high profile roles rather than just independent films and straight to DVD films. I find Heather Graham to be an underrated actress.
This film will work for some and others might not get some of the humor but luckily the raunchy humor is the most frequent humor in the movie so it can play to a direct audience. I was pleasantly surprised by the movie.
Score B
