Dunk Films - by Christopher Waldeck

The Goods Live Hard Sell Hard

August 15th 2009 12:26
Well as to no surprise this is certainly far from best pictrue worthy. Jeremy Piven how far you've fallen amazes me. What were you thinking doing this film? Will Ferell and james Brolin what were you guys thinking making cameos in this film? Will how could you produce this? well then again he did do Land of the Lost so this film doesn't surprise me to much.

The film had an ensemble cast of supporting and cameo characters and actors from other films just rolled into one and called a movie. You'd think that this film would at least aim for some satire of the auto industry seeing as though this film is about cars and the current economic failure the big three were, but instead this film adds fro the usual crude, lewd, and raunchy humor that has made the careers of basically every SNL star. Jeremy Piven basically plays the same Ari Gold character that he's known for on Entourage. He really needs to shape up his movie choices if he's going to survive after Entourage finally gets cancelled, or else he's straight to DVD like the rest of the television stars. Look at Anna Paquin even her movies are sent straight to dVD even when they're good like the highly anticipated Trick R Treat which was another brilliant horror film screwed by hollywood out of a theatrical release, for some other remake.

The plot is very simple a competitive car salesman must sell all the cars in his lot in order to survive against a more successful car dealership. Wow how original to copy off of a concept used in every other comedy and disney channel comedy. There are a few laughs, but overall it lacks any substance or creativity to make it seem interesting. It's just your average dirty joke comedy except a lot worse. None of the comedians really seem funny at all in this film and you're eventually laughing at the inane stupidity of this film by the time it draws near the halfway point which god must have had mercy on you if you have any brain cells left by then.

It's sad to see so much talent wasted for such an inane plot and idea to begin with. All of these actors clearly just needed the money except for Piven and Ferell so it amazes me as to why they'd sink so low to begin with. Avoid this one in theaters because it's honestly a pointless film.
