Dunk Films - by Christopher Waldeck

The Final Destination review

August 28th 2009 01:47
Well this movie was by far a lot stupider than i expected. It was easy to anticipate when you watched the trailer as it practically gave away every death scene in the entire movie plus stupid spoiler photos released on bloody disgusting.com. the film had a very thin plot line and it was simply ridiculous with the gore and mayhem that hardly lived up to anything special. I'm going to see Halloween 2 next just to see if it's any better than this. This film was one that you couldn't really expect much from. David R. Ellis makes his biggest directing mistake since Asylum with this film.

The story basically repeats the first two in which one of the group has a vision on a race track that everyone will die in a horrible racing disaster. He of course rescues them only to be haunted by death following them in the order of which they were supposed to die. Well that plot is followed by non stop gory mayhem which is actually pretty good, but pointless after awhile as you've seen it a hundred times before and the death scenes are rather cheesy and unoriginal. It's basically the same invisible slasher flick as before.

We of course get one scene of sex, but don't expect it to involve a tanning bed death scene like in final destination 3. the acting is average as it almost tops the acting in Friday the 13th, but the dialogue can be so irritating that you'd never notice.

Basically this film is what you'd expect, but for a 3D movie It was very disappointing from what could've been awesome. If you need to see a 3D film see my bloody valentine and remember it's greatness and how Lionsgate has screwed itself on making money with this horror icon. The regular version looks the same even when it's not in 3D. Oh and one more interesting fact, Nick Zano was in this film and he went to my high school if anyone knows who he is. He might be unnoticed now, but he'll probably get a break out performance one day as well as the rest of the obscure cast.
