Splice: An underrated Masterpiece
July 31st 2010 16:00
In news of a film which is so good that you would think that everyone would see it, Splice arrived. Sadly, nobody went to see it. It starred Sarah Polley a great underrated actress, and Adrien Brody, a great actor who is hated for almost no reason.
The film is about two scientists, and lovers who want to create an amazing experiment by creating an entirely new life form. They create this life form who Sarah Polley names Dren(Delphine Laureant) which is Nerd spelled backwards. Dren soon begins to grow and adapt a more human form, but at the same time revealing it's characteristics as a species with no known predator that has dangerous consequences for the new world.
This film had great acting, it was well paced with the tension of the subject matter, and the special effects were groundbreaking for the small budget of the film. Dren will rank as one of the top movie creatures of all time.
All in all I believe that this is one of the best films of 2010 thus far, and certainly deserves better recognition on DVD.
