Dunk Films - by Christopher Waldeck

Sorority Row is actually fun.

September 11th 2009 20:59
It's a messy night for Theta Pi.

Well I'm glad I decided to see this movie, despite the fact that technical difficulties in the theater consistently interfered with my movie watching experience. The film is about a group of Sorority sisters who accidentally cause the death of one of their fellow sorority sisters when trying to play a prank on her boyfriend for getting revenge on him for cheating on her. Megan who is the victim of the prank is played by Audrina Patridge who only has about five minutes of total screen time, but boy is it a bloody good time. This movie doesn't have as much blood as would be expected, and it also felt PG-13, except for a couple bare female and male butts and breats, plus some profanity and gore. if the gore and brief glimpses of nudity weren't in their this would've been PG-13, but thank goodness it wasn't.

Looks like the dance floor was a little too hot for the Step Up 2 girl

I was fairly impressed by the cast especially after I had lost my expectations when they released a clip of a decent death scene and nudity to try and entice an audience. However, this film had nearly no nudity so I'm sorry to disappoint all the horny dudes reading this review about this film. Well we had the step Up 2 girl, Briana Evignal in a great role as the only sorority girl, Cassidy with any regret and common sense over the accident. The only problem was that they didn't develop how she got this way enough. Rumer Willis played Ellie as the nerd who screams alot, no exaggeration, Margo Harshamn as Chugs, a girl who drinks and doesn't wear underwear, and the best death scene in the whole movie, Jamie Chung, you know the Samurai girl as cliare, a girl who likes to get naked in jacuzzi's and party, spoiler you won't see any skin. We had the best role of the movie in Leah Pipes as Jessica who played a really believable bitch, and the head sister. All the actors and actresses worked well, and speaking of actors whoever played Kyle and Andy were fantastic. i think Andy starred in Donkey Punch, and he was good their too.

Leah Pipes stole the show though.

But I don't want to see All about Steve!

This film was very well filmed and directed for such a low budget film. the director really knew what he was trying to do and he did it. the only other issue is bizarre intertwining plot lines, that are unnecessary and the fact that the movie has trouble trying to figure out whether it's a comedy or a horror. It's like all About Steve trying to figure out if it's even a movie. The movie is hilarious and has goods suspense, gore and tension through the first half and then loses touch towards the middle, but really makes it up with a great ending, and sadly a mediocre Hollywood sequel ending as well, right after that.

However, besides this issue this film is simply fun and enjoyable. It surprised me as being one of the better films out this week, and was a decent remake although the credits got the wrong original movie which is a huge botch, but also a hilarious one. If you're a critic see this on a rainy day, and if you're a horror movie fan just see it.
