Rob Zombie's Halloween 2 review

I'm by no means a Rob zombie's Halloween fan which maybe why I preferred this movie more than his last remake. In this film you know that it's not a remake rather it's rob zombie's own extreme vision. He just has Michael Myers and Laurie strode as the two main characters. I'm highly surprised that Dr. Loomis wasn't used as much and almost wasted in his performance as more of a douche bag character making money off of the Myers incident.
The opening attack is amazing I was in awe of how perfect it was until it ended up being a dream sequence which pissed me off because of how awesome it was. This film is later followed by Laurie's distraught mess of a life after the attack. Michael is waiting until next Halloween to hunt Laurie through the bizarre dreams of his mother on a white horse which are seriously twisted and disturbing, but it's different. Laurie is turning into a normal teenager by drinking and partying a complete personality change which actually works for her better than her wimpy self in the first one.
Don't worry this film has tons of violence. The film is mainly another rampage, but my god is it gory. People are stabbed like 500 times, disemboweled, severed with broken glass, and smashed against glass snapping every bone in their body. Zombie really wasn't kidding about the amp up violence. spoiler alert. He even eats a dog which is just sick.
This film is easily better than the first one because Zombie isn't as held back by the studio's this time around as he was with Halloween. although the film is far and I do mean far from perfect it still is ridiculously entertaining. It's much better than the Final destination. I don't care if Bloody Disgusting gave it Four Stars they gave I Know who killed me the same score. They seem to have lost some touch.
The main problem is really just how Laurie discovers that she's Micheal's sister and a couple bits of incoherence. Hey it's better than just being a plot less rehash of cheap CGI and fake blood in the Final Destination. this film is simply a badass slasher film with a WTF ending.
Note: in order to enjoy this film you must love gore that's not torture and view this as a Rob zombie movie and completely forget that it's the old Halloween because it's not. I'll give it some extra points because it was better than my expectations after the first one, and it was an interesting direction. I'm still pissed about the Blob though.
