Dunk Films - by Christopher Waldeck

Reviewing the entire Halloween series

August 25th 2009 14:25
In the wake of the arriving Rob Zombie vision of Halloween 2 I'm going to be reviewing the entire series. This series has spanned from the good old days of horror through the days of exploitation slasher films and into a new generation where it remains as one of the most popular series in an age of dying horror.

I'll start by reviewing the original masterpiece by John Carpenter followed by it's slasher film sequel. those will be followed by the misunderstood Season of the Witch and the Jamie vs. Michael Myers films. Then we'll hit the disastrous halloween 6 and resurrection with H2O being the only saving grace. I'll finish this off with the Rob Zombie remake and these will all be reviewed before it's official release. So get ready for Halloween.

Note: The release of Halloween 2 is on wednesday at a drive in movie theater where I live so I'll be the first to review it whether it's good or bad. Let's hope that it's not as bad as we think it's going to be. at least it's a completely different story so it's not just another remake.

Rather you than me dude ... I couldn't face the prospect of sitting through Halloweens 4 onwards ... I love the original, and I like the sequel cos it follows directly on and maintains much of the same mood. I like the premise of the third, but dramatically it falls flat and much of the acting is dreadful ... I don't like Zombie's version at all. However, like a glutton for punishment I'll be watching his take on the sequel, only to find myself most likely tearing it apart on my own blog ... But perhaps I'll be utterly surprised. I was with Hostel: Part II ...

Maybe we'll be surprised, but they released some new clips and this film looks like a completely different movie.
