Ponyo review

This is a fantastic animated film from legendary anime director Hayao Miyazaki, whose brought us such classics as Howl's Moving Castle, Spirited away and Princess Mononoke. he brings us this even better animated tale in which he out does himself again to give us and Disney a great motion picture. A motion picture that disney has made that hasn't been made by Pixar. I know it's shocking and unbelievable. Pixar might actually have a film that could steal an Oscar from them this year. A worthy film unlike Happy feet which proves how overrated pop culture animated films can still draw as well as penguins. Ponyo however is different as it has soul and artistic brilliance. the film is G rated and was dubbed for English for our audiences. It has the voice talents of Matt Damon and Cate Blanchett, who are easily the best movie choosers nowadays when it comes to critical success. It also starred nine year old Noah Cyrus who is just brought up probably because he's related to his overrated older sister and is used to make it look like he was the main draw for the film so he can have a Hollywood career. At least he can pick a good movie and it was better than Bolt, by all standards. Even though she claimed she was influenced by her sister's singing and acting career, I don't know if noah at the time knew what acting was. Oh well at least Noah's movies aim for something artistic and worth watching. why am i still focusing on this again?
The film is centered on a 5 year old boy named Sosuke, and his relationship with a goldfish princess named Ponyo who longs to become human.
If you're looking for the most touching film this summer and probably this year you need to see this movie. I can't stress how good this movie is. Hayao Miyazaki is truly a master of his craft with the stunning animation and the brilliance of the story line. Pixar better watch out because Up may not be enough to beat this gem. The English dubbing is even perfect and is better than most films with english dubbing. Everyone needs to see this film. It's possibly better than District 9, and on par with The Hurt Locker.
