It took in its opening day and it grossed 159.7 million in it's first five days. Those wizards are very rich right now. This movie out grossed the opening of the Last Potter film, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, by 20 million dollars. This was a much better film than the last film which also shows the audiences like to see quality movie making. The pG rating could have also had a dramatic effect on the age of viewers who went to see the film.
As entertaining as this film was as a PG, the last chapter needs to be PG-13. If you've read the book you'll understand why. This one had a good strategy focusing on the lighter side that was aberrant throughout the book, but the final tale needs to be as epic, courageous and as violent as the book in order to up the ante on the dramatic effect.
I'm happy to say that David Yates will be directing the last installment, because he seems to know what he's doing with these movies in terms of quality. In fact all of the Harry Potter movies after the first two were substantially better when they were aimed at the true darkness and adolescence in the story.
