Halloween H20 review

The only really salvageable sequel to the Michael and Laurie wars. This one featured the return of Jamie Lee Curtis and an interesting cast. The story was also much better than before and the scares remained hidden with the tension carrying most of the movie. I was actually quite satisfied when i saw this movie because I knew that this was mostly old school halloween horror.
This movie had most of the kills and terror offscreen so you imagined what happened rather than watching what was happening and Laurie strode fighting Michael myers was orchestrated very well with Laurie running yet fighting back more than she did in the other movies. The tension was there and michael was silent and stealthy rather than a loud slasher like he usually is in the messy sequels. This movie revived the series for a moment and actually had better than average acclaim.
Then ending was the icing on the cake where it seemed like Laurie finally killed Michael myers and I personally thought that was the end of Michael and it took balls to do that to our beloved slasher, and it worked very effectively. I personally really believed that it was over until they made a crappy sequel which destroyed that credibility.
If producers nowadays had seen this ending they should've ended the series right there unlike the Lionsgate producers with the Saw franchise. It would've been the perfect ending and the perfect way to finish the laurie and Michael feud. This was one of the most effective endings i've seen in a horror film and it was screwed up with a crappy sequel.
