Dunk Films - by Christopher Waldeck

Gamer review

September 7th 2009 03:47
Well this week was easily one of the worst weeks in movie history. We already had the trash known as All about steve and then we had this predictably trash film known as gamer though I was hoping it would at least be a little better with michael C. hall and the cast including Kyra Sedwick, and Alison Lohman. Sadly we were treated to another terrible film so I can see why slightly better trash like The Final Destination did better than this.

The film is about a man who is controlled by an outer world controller who is a gamer playing in the game called "Slayers" where live humans are put into combat and if they win they get set free at least according to the creator castle played terrifically by Michael C. hall one of the only good performances in this entire film. Gerard Butler who is the new action man nowadays is of course the lead hero who discovers he is being mind controlled thanks to a group of rebels led by Ludacris. Gerard breaks loose and attempts to save his wife and daughter from mind control as well.

I'll give this film some credit for a low budget film it looks spectacular, but the spectacular sight of blood, bullets and non stop shooting reveals that there is almost nothing to this movie, which is a shame considering that it came from the directors of Crank and Crank 2. This film offers nothing new or truly exciting enough to intrigue the audience except for those Gerard die hards who still imagine him in 300. Other than that this film is a complete bust and predictably one to. I was very disappointed by this as I hoped it would be a little more.

Hopefully, all the stars recover from this disaster i'm sure more will recover from this than at least half of the cast of the Informers. if you don't know what that it we'll it's when you give the author of the book and American Psycho write a script about the cynical life of hollywood rich families and all of the fake and ignorant and rich stuck up personalities. Basically we don't even have to see the movie to know about that.
