Erin matthews story being considered as fame.
July 30th 2009 22:50
I just read an article on Yahoo.com about how Erin Matthews had to call 911 because the paparazzi were taking photos of her and following her especially after she was filmed nude in a hotel room. I find this disgraceful. However, that isn't what truly bothered me. What bothered me was the wording of the article and how the article attempted to make Erin Matthews look like she was struggling with her fame that was caused by the video. They mentioned that because she tried out for Dancing With the stars awhile ago made her seem like she was using the video scandal to her advantage.
Personally, I don't know Erin Matthews, but what I do know is that this article proved how biased the entertainment industry is by suggesting that Erin Matthews didn't know how to get fame on her own terms except with a nude video. Is this what Hollywood considers fame! Do you think Hollywood is implying that in order to make it in the film or acting business you can get fame from a nude video. This should bother everyone that appearing in a naked video is considered to be fame. However, they don't seem to mind it when you have other celebrities getting fame and publicity for it which shows how perverted this industry has gotten.
The reporter in the article on Yahoo also attacked Bloggers for commenting on the story as if we were the problem. The problem is reporter's suggesting that this victim of a stalking who gained buzz over a nude video taken by a stalker is being attacked for not being able to control her so called fame. It's not even fame it's a woman recovering from being stalked and harassed by a pervert who videotaped her nude. she shouldn't be treated as famous or even harassed by paparazzi. Who should be blamed is Hollywood for proving with these new shows and fame given to celebrities famous for risque videos that Hollywood bases fame on scandal and filth rather than true quality entertainment.
Leave your thoughts on this subject in the form of a comment. I'd be gald to know how you feel about what is counted as fame.
