Couples Retreat is a disaster

Well my friends invited me to see a movie with them and I had found out it would be Couples Retreat. Despite the fact that I knew it was going to suck from the very beginning, I agreed to see it anyway. The highlight of the evening was a delicious burger at Duffy's. I sat through the miserable two hour film and was shocked by how the audiences were laughing like crqazy during every juvenille scene in the film. If you're wondering what I mean by juvenille look at the fact that the most mimportant subplot is about a son who mistakes store toilet displays for his own home toilets.
Considering the fact that this film was written by Vince vaughn and Jon Favreau also disappoints me. These are two very talented individuals and this is the best they can come up with. The best is a bunch of homophobic, penile and toliet humor jokes all combined into a wretched mess that insults intelligence at every turn. I felt damn embarassed watching this film while everyone else laughed their asses off at the very mention of any word related to toilet or hot. The eprformances were fine considering how god awful the humor and the dialogue was except for a few good timed jokes by Vince Vaughn and Jon favreau who probably could stomach the jokes because they wrote them.
The film was well cast ecept for an embarassing performance by Jean reno which is insulting considering how good of an actor he is, yet he never gets any real performcance gigs. The females were eprfectly cast. We know kristen bell can work in beautifully set scenes involving a tropical beach, but if you really wnat to see her in her prime watch Forgetting Sarah Marshall. kristin davis is still incredibly attractive and well cast for her age which basically means she casts aa a woman with an eye for any man in a speedo. Malin akerman though just seemed like she was there and didn't really add as much as she could have for her role as Vince vaughn's girlfriend.
Other than a few bright spots this film was utter garbage and should be taking Trick R Treat's place on the straight to DVD bin instead. The director of this film was Peter Billingsley from the christmas Carol. Well congratualtions Peter you just shot my eye out!
