Well it appears that Funny People didn't gross nearly as much as expected yet it still managed to do better than the 40 Year Old Virgin in its opening week, but with films like GI Joe coming out we can't predict it to stay on top again. Harry Potter was in second which is great for the series. With Funny People's length I think people naturally avoided it. However it's a better number one than G force which dropped to spot number three on the list followed by The disastrous The Ugly Truth. The other new releases like Aliens in the Attic debuted at number five which is decent considering the mediocrity of the movie. The collector bombed and didn't even make it on the list which says a lot about that movie and its reviews.
