Here are my picks for the best films of 2009. Give me your thoughts as I'm eager to see what you think of my choices. Here they are:
1. The Hurt Locker
Thisd non agenda war film about the Iraq war is not only the best film of the year. it's also the best film of the year and one of the best war films of all times. It's a great independent film and hopefully it wins best picture at Oscar season.
2. Avatar
This film is a mind blowing technological achievement in how films are made and it truly was one of the best viewing experiences I've been blown away by when watching a movie. James cameron is still the king of the world.
3. Fantastic Mr. Fox
It's the best film ever made by Wes Anderson, and even though it's strictly for it's fans this film will have you mesmerized the entire way.
4. 500 Days of Summer
This independent film is the best romamntic film that sadly not enough people have seen. It's a breath of fresh air for the romantic comedy and it's based on true events so it feels more personal. this film has heart, and is uplifting despite an awkward ending that blends the film beautifully.
5. Up in the Air.
In the recession era, this film will touch the minds and soul of most audiences. George clooney gives a great performance that matches his performance in syriana when compared to true quality. The director of Juno does it again and with a show stealing Anna Kendrick to help, and thankfully there is no Twilight.
