Dunk Films - by Christopher Waldeck

Avatar is still on top for the Seventh week in a row.

February 1st 2010 15:09
Mel Gibson looks pissed because he just read the box office results on dunk films.

For the seventh week in a row, Avatar remains on top of the box office world as it managed to beat Mel Gibson's return film in Edge of Darkness. While edge of darkness was a perfectly decent film despite mixed reviews from critics, i was honestly expecting it to gross a little more if not beat Avatar. However, the popularity of Avatar continues to shoo through the roof and more box office gold goes to James Cameron as well as a greater chance of winning the best picture at the Academy Awards. Sorry Hurt Locker. Hopefully Hurt locker actually wins the best picture, but I'll be perfectly fine with Avatar winning if it does. For once the academy actually has some good choices for best picture as long as Inglorious Basterds doesn't win best Picture. I wonder what the ten films will be that are nominated for best picture. We already know about most of them from the Golden Globes, and the critics choice awards.

Anyway here is the box office round up for this week.
