Dunk Films - by Christopher Waldeck

Aliens in the Attic review

August 2nd 2009 02:57
This is a film you see just because you have nothing better to do. It's basically your average B-movie that you'd find on straight to DVD except the producers wanted money so they just assigned some director to make it without putting anything of any real value or quality in it. Basically aliens attack a family with problems and tensions between the siblings at their new house. That is the entire plot and despite some good voice acting with the aliens this film just simply didn't try at all to be better or worse than what it was offering; A cheesy movie for the kids with a Disney Channel Star named Ashley Tisdale to draw some extra tweens into the audience.

This film is truly nothing, but a good alternative to the other adult movies released this week except for the fact that this movie is opening a week after G-Force an overrated movie to say the least and Harry Potter. This is just the regular money grab for a better film from these studios.

This film does feature a few entertaining parts and the fact that premise is ridiculous fits right in with what you would expect with it. This film is redeemably cheesy and doesn't try to market itself as being anything different. It's actually quite fun in certain parts and ridiculous with the whole remote controlled grandma part.

See this film if you have nothing better to do or for the kids because you're a parent who caters to their every will until they turn into teenagers and rebel against you. This is a skip film, and nothing more especially with much better movies in theaters. However, it's a good comedy for the kids and it actually might be more entertaining than G-Force which is a shock when you compare the talent between the two it's even more shocking when G Force beat Harry Potter.

Anyway there is really nothing interesting or special to mention in the film except it's geared to the kids and stays that way and it also showcases a decent B movie premise that could have been used better if the producers and studio actually cared about the quality of the film. Rather than trashing it I'll just give it an average rating because it doesn't try to be what it's not or anything less.
