9 is amazing animation wise, but sadly shallow on storyline.

Well we've all seen the amazing trailer pumped with the awesome music of cohhed and Cambria, now does this film live up to the hype. Well if you're a Tim burton fan and just seeing this film because it has his name on it and because it looks amazing than you'll like it. However, if you're looking for an epic storyline and an instant classic of a film you're going to have to wait for Shutter Island or The Road.
This film has an incredible voice cast including Elijah Wood, yes Frodo finally in another movie, the multi talented John C. Reilly, Jennifer Connelly, martin Landau, Tom Kane and Christopher Plummer. So that's a huge plus along with the extensively detailed animation courtesy of Shane Acker. if the animation could only make up for the murky story it would've beaten Pixar's Up.
The story starts off with an interesting premise, a scientist puts his life into 9 Dolls in order for them to fight the mahcines after our human world ends. after that the entire film goes into effects, animation and visuals and that's about as far as any solid substance goes in the movie. It's basically like GI Joe except this film actually had an acceptable screenplay.
Anyway I was disappointed especially with the hype I had for this film, but I enjoyed the movie and Shane acker has obvious talent in the world of animation and thank you tim burton for showing us this. However, if you could help him with story and screenwriting just a little bit you could have serious competition for Pixar.
