50/50 review

I loved this movie. It had everything that a moviegoer could ask for and a real emotional connection to the characters behind it. The screenwriter was daiagnosed with cancer and Seth Rogen had atually tried to help him so this is basically a real story acted extremely well by Seth Rogen doing his usual profane and slacker quirkiness to perfection rather than annoyance like in the Green Hornet. Joseph gordon Lewitt does excellent gaining sympathy from the audience and deserves the Golden Globe award that he is nominated for. \
Jonathan Levine does a great job working with the script by Rogen and his friend and the characters all work their roles well. Bryce Dallas Howard needs to remain in the role of a villainous character because she nails it perfectly and its great to see her finally getting cast in great movies instead of the average work that she was in prior to this. Anna Kendrick is also splendid in her role as Lewitt's Therapist and love interest. Her quiet beauty and quirkiness acts really well off of Lewitt's performance and his essential look for this part.
This film sadly won't win any major awards for Comedy thanks to The Artist and midnight in Paris, but damn is it a great movie that borders so close to dark reality and humor that it blurs the line between what is socially acceptable to laugh at and what isn't. This film is not for everyone and those sensitive to the subject of making humor out of dying from cancer will be greatly offended, but for those who can sit through this film will find it to be a pleasant surprise and a wonderful picture that not only showcases Lewitt's acting chops but shows how far Rogen's talents can go as far as writing and acting if used properly in a movie.
